I am a Guyanese native who has been passionate about fashion and interior decorating since I could remember. When I was a little girl, I would remember sneaking into my mom and sister’s closet, trying on their clothes, shoes and accessories.
My mother relocated her six children to the United States after my father was tragically killed in the line of duty as a police officer. We settled in San Francisco. My passion for high fashion grew even more and I made it my mission to become a personal stylist.
As a teenager, I have always been obsessed with all of the major fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle and Bazaar, reading them from cover to cover. I was always trying to stay abreast of the latest and emerging fashion trends. In high school, I was dressing all of my friends and became the “go to” fashion consultant. I just never knew that this would be the start of my career in image consulting and styling.
Over the last 30 years of hands-on experience, I have been styling my clients, men and women, from head to toe, for the workplace to special events. I have a special knack and a keen eye for what works for every body type; selecting clothing and accessories that complement a person’s figure. What makes me unique as a personal stylist is my use of color and helping my clients step out of their comfort zone.
After the passing of my mother and oldest sister Lynette, I realized how short life is and I was determined to open up a shop in their honor and live out my dreams. I have has always been into fashion and my dream of opening up my own boutique came to fruition in 2015 when I opened up Audrey B’s Boutique in Oakland, California. Over the last year and ½ I have been able to gain a loyal and large following of customers and even expanded my boutique online. I have learned the power of social media in building and expanding my business and opening up new opportunities in this industry. Because of the customer demand, I am now looking to creating my own clothing line.
For Audrey B, the sky is the limit.
